junior floral designer

$20-$25/hr depending on experience

the role

Our Junior Floral Designer role is built for someone at the beginning of their floral journey. You’ll work alongside our senior and lead designers, learning the ropes of daily shop operations, arrangements in our House Style, flower care, and client-facing work. Some professional experience required, plus you’ll need passion, a willingness to hustle, and a portfolio that shows us how you see the world.

This role supports the day-to-day operations of our studio and storefront by assisting with floral design, customer service, retail sales, and event preparation. Responsibilities include maintaining fresh, attractive displays, caring for flowers and plants, processing customer orders, and helping create a welcoming shopping experience while supporting the team with studio organization and deliveries.

  • Process new floral stock and assist with prepping containers and greening for events, flower and plant care, retail merchandising, and event design, setup and breakdown.

  • Provide friendly customer service, process orders and payments, and answer floral and care questions.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked shop while supporting deliveries and daily operations.

  • Maintain 95%+ order accuracy, produce arrangements that meet shop quality standards, and minimize corrections after onboarding.

  • Deliver excellent customer service with the goal of zero unresolved customer complaints.

  • Complete daily tasks efficiently while maintaining 95%+ attendance and consistent punctuality.

  • Event support: Assist in the on-time, on-brief execution of assigned event and wedding support tasks

what we’re looking for

  • 1-2 years of professional floral design experience (floral school, hobbyist background, or related creative work all count)

  • A genuine love of flowers, plants, and creative design

  • Eagerness to learn and take direction gracefully

  • Basic understanding of flower types and care is a plus, but not required

the role

We’re looking for a Senior Floral Designer who’s ready to take ownership of their work and help raise the bar for the whole team. In this role, you’ll lead complex arrangements, play a key part in weddings and events, consult with clients directly, and occasionally mentor junior designers. You’re someone who has found their design voice and is excited to keep developing it in a creative, collaborative environment.

what you’ll do

  • Design and execute floral arrangements across all areas of the business: retail, daily orders, weddings, events, and occasional sympathy work

  • Lead client consultations for smaller events to understand their vision and translate it into stunning, on-brand designs

  • Deliver an exceptional retail customer experience — engaging warmly, offering knowledgeable guidance on arrangements, houseplants, and care, and confidently upselling when appropriate

  • Help maintain a polished, well-merchandised shop floor that reflects our brand and invites customers to linger

  • Handle customer concerns or complaints with professionalism and a solutions-first attitude, escalating when necessary

  • Play a key role in the planning and execution of weddings and larger events

  • Occasionally mentor and guide junior designers, offering constructive feedback and support

  • Assist with sourcing and ordering flowers and supplies from wholesalers

  • Responsible for overseeing houseplant and flower care and conditioning standards throughout the shop

  • Assist with delivery, setup, and breakdown for off-site events

  • Keep the studio clean, organized, and well-stocked

  • Maintain studio standards per separate document.

  • Stay current on design trends and bring fresh ideas to the team

  • Oversee and execute premade arrangements - inside cooler needs 2-3 options for each hand-tied and vase arrangement variety. (Varies but needs to be consistent)

We hold our senior designers to a high standard — and we give them everything they need to meet it. Here’s what success looks like in this role:

  • Order accuracy: Maintain a 97%+ accuracy rate on all arrangements and orders

  • Quality: Consistently produce arrangements that meet or exceed shop quality standards, with minimal corrections neededCustomer satisfaction: Contribute to a excellent in-store experience; resolve customer concerns at point of contact without escalation at least 90% of the time

  • Productivity: Complete a target of 15–25 arrangements per shift (varies by complexity and season) within standard timeframes

  • Punctuality & reliability: Maintain a 97%+ on-time, present-and-ready attendance rate across all scheduled shifts

  • Event & wedding execution: Deliver all assigned event and wedding florals on time, on brief, and on budget, with zero day-of critical errors

what we’re looking for

  • 2-3 years of professional floral design experience across retail, events, or weddings

  • Confident design skills across a wide range of styles — bold, romantic, minimalist, and everything in between

  • Strong client communication and consultation skills

  • Genuine enjoyment of the retail customer experience — you like people and you’re good with them

  • A collaborative spirit with a natural willingness to share knowledge

senior floral designer

We’re looking for a Lead Floral Designer to bring their creative vision, technical mastery, and leadership energy to our team. In this full-time role, you’ll be the creative anchor of the design team — executing high-level arrangements, owning client relationships, guiding other designers, and helping shape the overall direction of our floral work and retail experience. This is a role for someone who’s ready to lead.

  • Design and execute floral arrangements across all areas of the business: retail, daily orders, weddings, events, and occasional sympathy/funeral work

  • Lead and mentor up to 3 senior, junior or supporting designers, fostering a culture of creativity, quality, and continuous growth

  • Model and uphold an exceptional retail customer experience — engaging warmly with walk-in customers, offering expert guidance on arrangements, houseplants, and gifts, and training the team to do the same

  • Oversee the retail floor presentation, ensuring displays are fresh, on-brand, fully stocked, and visually compelling at all times

  • Handle escalated customer concerns with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-first mindset

  • Lead client consultations for weddings and events, translating their vision into stunning, personalized designs

  • Take ownership of wedding and event project timelines, ensuring smooth execution from concept through delivery
