flora as Form
Thread studio - Denver Art Museum
For this gala event hosted by the Denver Art Museum, we imagined a floral activation that didn’t arrive finished, rather it became itself through community. A flowing mesh wire structure, shaped like water in motion, held nearly 400 hand-painted water tubes, each one prepared and filled with water before guests arrived.
As people entered, they placed a flower, and so the piece grew, shifted, changed.
There was no way to control the final form, which was the point of the piece, an artwork shaped by many hands, unique moments, and individual choices. As the night came to a close, it transformed again as guests were invited to take a flower home, gently deconstructing what they had helped to build.
